Electric Shaver vs Hair Clippers For Bald Head Shaving

This is a comparison between shaving your head with hair clippers vs shaving your head with an electric head shaver.

When it comes to shaving your head bald you have many options but which option is best for you?

To help you get closer to the decision lets compare the difference in finished look between shaving with an electric head shaver (the Remington RX7 also known as Balder Pro in the US)

with the Wahl Aqua Blade Hair clippers.

I began this test on around 4-5 days of hair growth from my last electric shaver head shave. It's not quite a grade 1.

BEFORE

I then used the Wahl Aqua Blade clippers to shave the right side of my head. These clippers are probably the closest cutting hair clippers i've ever used.

I took the Wahl Aqua Blade Clippers on a recent road trip I did to the USA and they served me very well. I use the 1.5mm guard on them for shaving down my beard stubble also. I'd shave every 4 days or so. Shaving with hair clippers is quick and easy. It's the easiest head shaving method possible.

Below are the final results after shaving with the Wahl Aqua Blade Clippers (on the right) vs no shave on the left.

You can see that even compared to as little as 5 days hair growth the Wahl Aqua Blade Hair Clippers take a significant amount of hair off and can be used for a great head shave and tidy up of your look.

Let's compare the visual difference between the hair clippers and an electric shaver.

The most common complaint guys make about using an electric shaver for shaving your head is the irritation it can cause. Electric head shavers (good models) can be very effective but you do need to go over the surface of your head quite a few times to get a clean head shave with no missed spots. It is this continuous razor to skin contact that causes the irritation.

Here are the finished results with the electric shaver area on the left of my head and the hair clippers on the right.

As you can clearly see the electric head shaver ( Remington RX7 ) does shave closer than the hair clippers. It is about 1-2 days hair growth worth of extra closeness with the electric head shaver.

Shaving with the electric shaver does take 2-3 minutes longer.

If how close a shave is produced is your priority in choosing your head shaving method then I hope this short test was useful to you.

If you'd like to see the shavers in action and watch this test then you can do so HERE.

To finish off I evened out both sides of my head by using the Remington RX7 Head Shaver all over. I jumped in the shower and afterwards put on some of the Bald Cafe's Bald Head Butter which you can get HERE.

Thanks for reading and I hope it helped.
